It doesn’t do anyone any good to build a computer that may appear as though it can do practically everything in the world if the quality of the materials and equipment in the computer is not good. Those who are in the computer manufacturing and production fields take pride in their work and they know this. So, they welcome the opportunity to have their products certified. This includes those companies that subcontract different jobs. Just because your company is not participating in the actual process does not mean you can or should accept poor quality workmanship. Nor should you allow your subcontractors to cut corners in their quality control practices.
The benefits of technology are becoming more and more apparent as new technology continues to be developed. The functions of hardware and software like the free open source products you can download from openoffice.org, FTP programs like FileZilla and the media software xvid codec in computers are becoming more advanced. Already, there have been so many advancements that there are instances of technology taking over jobs that were once held by humans. In fact, when you think about it, the limits of what computers can do is only restricted to the imaginations of those who are responsible for engineering the technology and overseeing its development and distribution.
This has benefits and drawbacks. Technology has allowed improvements to be made in many areas, including the medical field. Tests that once took hours to perform and days to get results now can be done in a shorter amount of time, providing more comfort to the patient and letting the doctor start treatment sooner,if it is warranted. Drawbacks include shoddy products being rushed to market. Fortunately, the marketplace can weed out those inferior products.
So, the fact remains that technology is here to stay. This does not mean, however, that computer manufacturing and production companies can or should produce materials or equipment that is of lesser quality. Instead, they should welcome the chance to meet certification requirements so that they can truly say their products meet high quality standards.
